The Need

The animal welfare organisations in the Stellenbosch area are doing a sterling job against huge odds. They are rescuing and re-homing pets in distress. Often these dogs and cats are malnourished and neglected and sometimes fall victim to abuse and gangster initiation ceremonies. In addition these organisations have education and outreach programmes and spend a huge amount of their time and resources spaying dogs and cats to try to break animal explosion. This is a thankless and difficult task. Unfortunately, such welfare organisations often work from hand-to-mouth. A group of concerned citizens feel that we could help support the work of such organisations  by building up an endowment fund so that the income derived from such a fund could be used to support registered organisations such as Stellenbosch Animal Welfare Society on a long term basis. We have made a good start, but need your help.
